"HELPING HANDS" SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE
Throughout the month of August, our church is gathering essential items to support two local schools, ensuring that students and their families have what they need for a successful start to the school year. If you haven’t yet, please visit the mission table in the Lobby where you can pick up a list of needed items and a bag to fill with your donations. We are accepting contributions through Sunday, August 31. We are grateful for the generosity many of you have shown already – thank you for being a blessing!
NEW HOPE KIDS UPDATE
In August we began our journey through the Bible starting with Creation. Our FAITH begins when we remember how God has been at work from the start. Each day, we can choose to trust in what we can’t see because of what we can see. This summer we learned eight lessons from the Bible teaching us how to Love Like Jesus! We also went through approximately 8lbs of cereal and countless cups of water!
We are always looking for classroom volunteers to serve alongside our dynamic group at New Hope! Contact Anita Zegers at anita@newhopefortmyers.org or Kellie Witenko at kellie@newhopefortmyers.org.
Mark your calendar now to join us for Discover New Hope on Saturday, September 27, from 8:30am to 12:30pm. This informative session about New Hope and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church is a fantastic opportunity to explore what our church community has to offer and consider becoming a part of our faith family.
Enjoy a complimentary lunch and connect with others as we delve into the values, mission, and exciting opportunities at New Hope. To ensure we have enough for everyone, please click here to register.
GUYS' PICKUP BASKETBALL & DEVOTIONAL
Guys of all ages enjoyed another night of basketball and Bible Study at Wa-Ke-Hatchee Park. Join them for hoops and the Word the second Sunday of every month from 6-8pm!
NEW HOPE NAME TAGS
If you would like a New Hope name tag, please add your name to the list at the Welcome Table in the Lobby at the church. We will be putting in an order at the end of the month (August 29). Your first one is complimentary and replacements are available for $10.
AN UPDATE FROM THE FINN FAMILY:
Chiang Mai, Thailand
This year has been full of growth and celebration! We've welcomed two new clinicians to the Cornerstone team, expanding our capacity to serve more individuals. Jake has co-taught a pastoral counseling intensive at the Brisbane School of Theology and we've officially launched the year-long LAMP program. This hybrid training initiative equips global leaders to care for themselves and others using the Christian Wholeness Framework, with Jake serving as part of the core teaching team.
Our family has enjoyed connecting with friends, family, and supporters in the Chicago and St. Louis areas. Although it was a time without our beloved Pop-pop (Jake’s step-dad), we find comfort reflecting on the life he lived, the example he set in following Jesus, and the truth that he now resides in heaven, in the presence of God. We miss him dearly.
As we look forward to celebrating 21 years of CCF’s ministry in Thailand, we are also excited to dedicate a new building, which will offer expanded space for training, offices, and workshops.
We are deeply grateful for all that the Lord is doing through Living Wholeness and our partners as we continue to equip leaders and expand care worldwide. Thank you for your prayers and ongoing support.
-Jake, Honah, Luca, Eli, and Norah
