THOMAS QUINN

Area Director for Lee County Young Life

This Sunday, November 8, we are pleased to welcome Thomas Quinn, Area Director for Lee County Young Life for a Missions Interview moment during both of our worship services. Thomas has ten years of youth ministry experience and a passion for sharing the love of Jesus Christ with young people. He leads a team of staff and volunteers who build meaningful relationships with students, share the Gospel, and encourage them to grow in their faith.

Young Life currently serves students at several local high schools, Florida Gulf Coast University, and Florida SouthWestern State College. Thomas is especially passionate about reaching students who may never step foot inside a church and equipping Christian leaders to make a lasting impact.

Thomas and his wife, Lauren, moved to Fort Myers two years ago with their sons, Aiden and Eli, to continue following God's calling. We look forward to hearing more about the work God is doing through Young Life in our community!

If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

New Hope is excited to host the Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers on Sunday, November 8, at 4pm for their concert, In the Midst of Life. Under the direction of Matthew Koller, this moving musical program explores themes of fear, longing, memory, and the beauty of living fully in the present. Featuring pianist Abigail Allison and cellist Tim Torres, the concert promises an afternoon of beautiful music and meaningful reflection. Tickets can be purchased at mastersingersfm.com. Invite a friend and join us for this special afternoon of music right here at New Hope!

Heavenly Father,

Today, we thank You for the men and women who have served our country. We are grateful for their courage, dedication, and the sacrifices they and their families have made to protect the freedoms we enjoy each day.

We ask that You continue to watch over our veterans and their families. Bring healing to those who are hurting, comfort to those who have experienced loss, and peace to those who carry the burdens of their service.

Help us to remember that freedom is a gift we should never take for granted. May we always be grateful for those who have served and look for ways to show our appreciation through our words and actions.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

TAILGATE SUNDAY RECAP!

What a fun time we had at Tailgate Sunday! The weather may not have been quite as sunny as we're used to, but that didn't stop everyone from enjoying great food and fellowship. Team jerseys sparked plenty of conversations, friendly rivalries, and a little good-natured trash talk! It was a wonderful time to relax, connect, and enjoy being together as a church family. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success!

Join us on Thursday, November 19, at 11:30am to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal, special music, an encouraging message on gratitude, and a wonderful time of fellowship as we reflect on God's many blessings. Everyone is welcome! The cost is $10 per person. Registration is required through the link below.

Looking for a little fresh air, fellowship, and time to connect with other women? Join us November 11 and 18 for Walking Wednesdays! STUDENT MINISTRY EVENTS RECAP

After Dark: Halloween Party Recap

To celebrate the Halloween season, students painted pumpkins, competed in an epic escape-room style scavenger hunt, played capture the flag in the dark, and enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit!

Small Group Fun Night Out

Rather than meeting for our regular program, small groups chose their own activities last week! Groups went to Bent Brush to paint pottery, went to Retro Zone Arcade to play games, challenged themselves at Escape Rooms, painted glass tumblers, used mod podge to decorate pumpkins, ate dinner together, watched a fun fall movie, and more! To see all the photos, check out our Instagram page!

A simple shoebox can make an eternal difference! Through Operation Christmas Child, children around the world receive gifts that bring joy and share the love of Jesus. This year, New Hope has a goal of packing 600 shoeboxes, and we need your help! Pick up a shoebox in the lobby, fill it with toys, school supplies, and personal care items, and return it to New Hope by Sunday, November 22.

As a community drop-off location, New Hope will also be welcoming shoebox donations from churches and organizations throughout National Collection Week, November 16 through 22. Volunteers are needed throughout the week to help receive and organize boxes for shipment. Whether you pack a shoebox, volunteer your time, or both, you can help share the Good News of Jesus Christ with children around the world!

New Hope is partnering with City Takers SWFL, Ride Nature, and other local nonprofits to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in our community! On Saturday, November 14, from 2-5pm, New Hope will serve as the host site for a Turkey Drive, where an estimated 600 to 800 turkeys, along with bags of groceries and fresh produce, will be distributed to families in need. Want to help? A limited number of volunteer opportunities are available. Please sign up below. Or you can donate to the cause by marking your check “Turkey Drive.” Together, we can help make Thanksgiving a little brighter for our neighbors!
