VBS 2019 – Friday

New Hope Presbyterian Church VBS

Hi, families,

What a terrific week with your kids at VBS! It was so much fun!

Today in Bible, in Joshua 3-4, we learned of God’s goodness in letting His people cross the flooding Jordan river into the Promised Land. When they took the first step of faith, the water parted and they crossed the river bed on DRY ground. It was another miracle!

God commanded them to take 12 dry stones and build a memorial to remind them of God’s goodness today. God knows people forget His goodness when trouble comes. We need physical reminders to help us not lose faith when life gets crazy. Today’s Bible point is…

In today’s home connection, talk about the good things God has done for your family. What good things have you maybe forgotten about? Brainstorm ways that you can create physical markers of these milestones to build your faith and a life of gratitude.

In our family, we had a glass column jar in our family room. We wrote on small stones with sharpie markers to celebrate God’s goodness. What works for you?

Missions Update – Our friendly competition was oh so close! Those amazing boys raised $1787.60! Wow! The girls edged them out with $1821.67! (and yes, the boys did win in 2016). The real winner is the people of Zimbabwe as together $3,609.27 was raised for wound care. Elizabeth Edwards texted her gratitude for your support.

Also, grateful is our ministry partner, We Care Outreach, for the bus passes that were donated to help people get to job interviews or important appointments. Thank you!

Thank you for entrusting your children to us this week. Please plug in June 8-12, 2020 in your phone’s calendar for next year. It is very special to see kids return every year.

Have a wonderful summer! We would love to see you again very soon!
