New Hope eNews - November 28, 2025

Happy Thanksgiving! This is one of my favorite holidays because of family, friends, and great food. I hope you've had a blessed week. We have so much to be thankful for in this country. We enjoy freedoms that many around the world can only dream of. Christians in numerous countries face enormous persecution—millions of our brothers and sisters in Christ gather secretly to worship, risking arrest (or worse) simply for following Jesus. Let's be thankful for the opportunity God has provided us and remain vigilant in using it to build His kingdom. Take time this weekend to praise God for the many blessings He has given us.

Christmas is Almost Here

This Advent season begins this Sunday and we'll focus on the theme A Savior is Born. God sent His Son to demonstrate His love toward us  – He took action and pursued His fallen creation. We have a God who draws near to His people. Each week, we'll explore the themes of Advent: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Don't forget to pick up a free Advent devotional in the Lobby on Sunday and begin the daily devotions – we have plenty to share with friends or neighbors. You can also use our Christmas card to invite them to one of our Christmas events.

God bless, and see you on Sunday!

Lee Memorial’s Blood Drive will be back at New Hope this Sunday, November 30, from 8am-1pm. All blood donated will stay in Lee County and give life to those in our community. You can pre-register your preferred time slot through the link below or stop by the bus on Sunday morning and wait for the next opening!

If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

THANKSGIVING WITH A DIFFERENCE

Join New Hope as we continue to encourage our friends at We Care Outreach which supports individuals and families experiencing homelessness and recovery needs by providing both emergency services and long-term support.

Grab a bag from the Lobby on Sunday, fill it with canned food items from the list on the Mission Table, and return it by December 7! Your donations will help to stock We Care’s pantry which is low due to food bank shortages this season.

Thank you for helping to making a difference by being the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are struggling to have enough food each week, and especially during this holiday season! Questions? Email rachel@newhopefortmyers.org.

Our next PB&J day is Thursday, December 4! You can bless homeless people in our community by dropping off pre-made, individually wrapped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the New Hope kitchen on Thursday by noon.

Join us for our annual Women's Tables of Christmas event on Friday, December 5, from 6-8:30pm (doors open at 5:30). Come experience an enchanting evening with beautifully decorated tables, live music, and entertainment. Dinner will be catered by Here’s How and includes a delicious selection chicken piccata, mashed potatoes, broccoli, salad, dessert, coffee, and tea. Tickets are available for $25 each through the link below through this Sunday, November 30. Go buy your tickets now if you haven’t yet because you won’t miss this festive and elegant occasion!

Make plans to join us for our FREE church Christmas party Jingle Jam on Wednesday, December 10, at 6pm! We’ll kick off the night by enjoying a pizza dinner and a holiday-themed variety show in the Sanctuary, with special music and laughs for all ages! After that, we’ll party on the lawn with inflatables, cookies and cocoa, visits with Santa, and time to fellowship with your church family! Bring your neighbors and friends! This is a free event – no registration required!

THE KING'S BRASS CONCERT

Save the Date: December 14 at 6pm!

Experience the magic of Christmas with Tim Zimmerman and the King's Brass as they bring the spirit of the holidays to life with their remarkable musical performances blending classical, jazz, and sacred brass sounds. Celebrate the timeless traditions of Christmas through an evening of joyous music and fun with your church family and friends. We hope to see you there!

STUDENT MINISTRY UPDATES

BARN DANCE: Thank you to Kim and Mike Jamerson for hosting the Student Ministry for our first Barn Dance! Students learned four line dances, enjoyed hayrides, and s’mores at the fire pit at Jamerson Farms.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS: The student ministry wrapped up their Wednesday night program last week completing their Psalm 23: The Freedom Journey series! We challenged the students and leaders to memorize Psalm 23 and invite you to do it with us! We are excited to kick off the spring on January 7, 2026, but also invite any middle and high schoolers to attend Common Ground on Sunday mornings at 9:30am for our Christmas series: Light Has a Name!

New Hope is going to the theater! Join us for lunch and an award-winning show on Wednesday, January 21, at 11:15am! The cost of $78/person includes lunch, dessert, beverage, and gratuities. Tickets are limited and you must click here to purchase through New Hope (not through Broadway Palm!) to ensure group seating. We will then meet at Broadway Palm and head to our seats together.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Early last Wednesday morning, eleven vehicles lined the parking lot at New Hope, each filled to the brim with shoeboxes. Evangelical Christian School had filled over 1,000 shoeboxes and delivered them to be counted, packed, and loaded on the trailer that would take them to a Samaritan's Purse processing center. More drop-offs like this happened all week long, with 54 volunteers helping to carton and load them into the trailers in a smooth process.

National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child came to an end on Monday with New Hope members collecting 290 shoeboxes, and, as a central drop-off location, receiving a total of 14,448 shoeboxes in three full trailers! Thanks, New Hope, for sharing your amazing facilities so that the ministry of the shoeboxes may go from our area, to all over the world to be distributed along with the life-changing message of the gospel!
