Update from Pastor Eddie

Dear Church Family,

We have been trying to personally communicate with as many of you as possible. We will continue as the week progresses. As I have spoken to people in the last two days, I have learned that almost everyone has a big mess to clean up and some minor damage to their home or property. Many folks are without electricity. If you have electricity, I urge you, if possible, to open your home to those without air conditioning. Also, please pray for families and individuals traveling back to the area who will see first hand the condition of their homes and community.

There are some people in our church family and community who have had significant water damage to their homes. In the next week, I hope to be able to assess how New Hope can specifically help these families. I believe New Hope can significantly help a few of those who have been most impacted by the storm.

We need one another in these days. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). I know many of you are doing good things within your own neighborhoods and communities. In God’s Kingdom it is the small or unknown expression of kindness that God uses to encourage people.

I have been in regular communication with the pastor of the Next Level Church as we seek to partner with them and other local churches in their hurricane response ministries. They, as well as many of our churches, are seeking to care for their own people as well as others in the community. If you are interested in financially supporting our hurricane relief efforts, you can give to the New Hope Care & Compassion Fund (Good Samaritan Fund).

The weeks ahead will demand a lot of patience and strength. I urge you to daily, if not momentarily, seek the Lord’s spiritual strength and resources. May we learn that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in our weakness
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

If you need help in the next few days, please call me. My cell number is 239.450.3331.

Great peace in the Lord,
Eddie
