Communications
Purpose: The Deacons utilize the Sunday bulletin, a Deacons’ Ministries brochure, the sanctuary’s media screen , and the New Hope website to communicate our ministries of compassion and service.

Congregational Care
Purpose: Our Deacons maintain telephone contact with people in our congregation who are in difficult circumstances and could use words and prayers of encouragement.

Correspondence
Purpose: We have a friendship and sympathy card ministry to recognize members of the New Hope family.

Front Porch
Purpose: This is a cooperative ministry between the Deacons and the high school students to perform “fix-it” tasks for members of the congregation who cannot do the tasks themselves.

Funeral/Memorial Support
Purpose: We provide comfort to the family of the deceased and assist with their needs during the funeral/memorial service.

Homebound Communion
Purpose: A Deacon accompanies and assists a church Elder to serve communion to people who are homebound.

Homebound Visitation
Purpose: We serve people who are not able to leave their home through visits, prayer, phone calls, and cards.

Meals to Bless
Purpose: We coordinate home-cooked meals for people who have been recently released from the hospital or who are shut-ins. We also coordinate a limited menu of food service options for receptions that follow a funeral/memorial service a New Hope.

One Congregation & a Truck
Purpose: If a member of New Hope is unable to handle moving furniture and personal items to a new residence, the Deacons will assist.

Wheels to Bless
Purpose: We coordinate transportation to church, medical offices, etc. for members who cannot drive, using a pool of volunteers from the congregation.
