the joy of the cafe

Hello New Hope Friends! As I hope you've noticed, for the last two months a team of volunteers has been putting on "Cafe Hope" each week as a way to foster some hospitality and community in our church! Our aim has been to serve you with grace, provide some great coffee and baked goods, and raise a few funds for student mission trip scholarships.

We now want to extend two specific opportunities for you to be involved!

First: We are looking for people who are gracious, love to serve others, and would be able to work at at one of four shifts. Each shift has one leader for that Sunday who ensures that the team covers all their responsibilities. Our shift times are as follows: set-up team of 5-6 people (7-8am), Shift 1  - three people who serve at tables (8:45-9:30am), Shift 2 - three people who serve at tables (10:20-11:00am), and Take-Down - 5-6 people who take down the cafe, clean up supplies, etc. (12:10-12:50pm). If you would enjoy serving every now and then, please let us know! It's a marvelous chance to mix with and meet many in our congregation, and especially to get to know some of our students! Our goal is to have a big pool of volunteers from both our students and the rest of our church who can serve once or twice each month.

Second, we'd like a team of helpers who work behind the scenes: opportunities include ordering or picking up food and coffee supplies, inventory and accounting, scheduling volunteers for weekly shifts, cleaning and care of supplies, etc.  If you have a particular gifting or skill in these areas, and time to help us, we would love to talk to you!  These times are very flexible throughout the week and weekend.
