As members of the EPC (Evangelical Presbyterian Church), New Hope offers a variety of baptism options:
Infant Baptism
Baptism is one of the two sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ as an outward sign of inward grace. Since it demonstrates God’s covenant of grace and is directed to believers and their families, baptizing infants is part of a family’s identity within the covenant community.
Scripture says unequivocally, that we are saved by grace–”while we were yet sinners.” The practice of infant baptism demonstrates how God’s grace through the Holy Spirit is at work even before we are aware.
If you are a member of New Hope and would like to baptize your infant, please email Pastor Stu Austin. A member of the staff will contact you regarding your request very soon.
Student Baptism
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.” -John 3:5
New Hope baptizes older children and teens when they have made a profession of faith. If your child is interested, we offer a confirmation class for 4th & 5th graders and a different class for middle/high school students. If your child has already been baptized, he or she will focus on the confirmation process. For more information about confirmation, click HERE.
Adult Baptism
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. -Acts 2:38
If you are an adult, have never been baptized, and are interested in baptism, and becoming an official member of the church, please email Pastor Stu Austin to inquire about classes and educational materials.
