Team Elena Event

Join us on April 5 and 6 to learn about Elena Brooks and ECHO in their work to fight food insecurity. Children, youth and adults will experience everyday needs for millions around the world, and some of the solutions that exist in our own backyard. Get signed up for the weekend below!

FRIDAY

Adults: Join us on Friday night for interactive workshops from ECHO interns and staff, including New Hope member Elizabeth Casey. We will start at 5:30pm with an introduction to Elena Brooks and our event, followed by breakouts from 6-7:30pm.

Families with Young Kids (K-5th, childcare provided): You can learn alongside your elementary-age kids with games and activities on Friday night! Join us starting at 5:30pm. Dinner will be provided for you and your kids, and the evening is filled with kid-friendly learning. We will wrap up by 7:30pm.

MS & HS Youth: We have an amazing weekend planned just for you including fun team challenges, a service project and an overnight at the church! We get started Friday at 5pm and will stay over until the end of the event on Saturday.

SATURDAY

ECHO Tours: At 9am and 10am, we have arranged for two New Hope tours of the ECHO farm. This will give great insight not only into what Elena and other interns work on here in Florida, but on the strategies and techniques being used to help small-scale farmers around the world! If you’ve never been, don’t miss this opportunity! There will be an opportunity at the end of the tour to donate to ECHO’s work (usual cost of admission: $12.50).

Serve Project: You can serve at Colonial Elementary School by helping with a garden project from 9-11am (children K-5th are welcome to serve with their parents).

Event Wrap-Up: At 11:30am, join us at New Hope in Room 212 for a time of worship and prayer, including a Skype call with Elena in Tanzania. We will finish with a delicious pasta lunch at 12:30pm.
