Acapulco, Mexico
From July 14-21, a group of adults and older high school students will work with the New Hope missionaries Irving and Donna Jennings-Garcia in Acapulco, Mexico. New Hope has been partnering with Irving & Donna Jennings-Garcia for the last 8 years. Donna once lived here in Fort Myers and as a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, volunteered in the Student Ministry and roomed with New Hope staff member Krissy Bashor before she moved to Acapulco, Mexico to work with Mission to the World as a medical missionary. There, Donna met her husband Irving, who worked at the Children’s Center. Their ministry is a wonderful engagement with kids who have lost a normal family support structure. Our opportunities to help are broad and challenging, including a need for medical workers to partner with Donna in her street clinic. This trip would allow us to engage with both the children at the Casa Hogar Orphanage and the Medical Clinic run by Donna.
Part of the purpose of going is to form a deeper partnership with a family that we support here financially and through prayer. The other is to give an international service experience for our high school students and adults in the church. This trip is also fully organized by MTW, making it an easy first step in a potential partnership with the Garcias at Casa Hogar.

Casa Hogar
Project Description: Casa Hogar is home to approximately 60 children. The children live at Casa Hogar for a variety of reasons. Some have families that cannot afford to raise them, so they send them to the orphanage. Others have no families besides those at Casa Hogar. Casa Hogar provides a safe environment for these children, where they are loved, receive an education, and most importantly, hear about the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Teams are needed to help with the construction of new facilities for the children and staff. Thanks to the help of many, the girls at Casa Hogar have been able to move into new rooms that were built with the help of teams just like you. There is still much work to be done and you can be of great service. Currently the deconstruction of some older buildings is in process in order to make room for the new facilities.
Beyond construction, teams get the joy of working, playing with, and ministering to the children of Casa Hogar. After a morning of construction, lunch, and a siesta during the heat of the day, teams get time to minister to the children through different activities which they have prepared. Many of the children have seen a great number of teams come to Casa Hogar, and for this reason, teams are encouraged to be creative and original with the activities, games, and lessons, which they have prepared for the children.
God is doing great things in Acapulco through Casa Hogar Del NiƱo De Acapulco and Mission to the World would like to encourage you to come be a part.
